ST. LOUIS -- Panera Bread is updating its menu with lots of new dishes that customers already love, like soups, salads, sandwiches, and mac & cheese. The St. Louis based chain says that it will be offering more food for your money with bigger portions and lower prices. This new menu will be available at all Panera restaurants across the country starting April 4th. They're adding nine new items and making twelve old favorites even better. You'll find options like the Tomato Basil BLT sandwich, Ranch Cobb Salad, and Mediterranean Greens with Grains salad, all for under $10. Plus, they're adding more chicken and steak to salads and sandwiches. The Bears are projected to have $80.4 million in cap space to spend this offseason, per OvertheCap.com, which ranks third in the NFL. The $30 million increase in the salary cap from last year is the result a jump in media revenue and the repayment of money advanced by the teams and deferred by players during the COVID pandemic. The Bears will have $68.3 million in space to spend after accounting for payments for their draft picks. The Bears are slated to pick first and ninth in the late April draft. ST. LOUIS - A huge piece of history sits right in downtown St. Louis, and even more emphasis has been placed on preserving the stories that played out at the old courthouse. Dred and Harriet Scott sued for their freedom on the same grounds where slaves were once auctioned off on the front steps. The ruling led to the Civil War, which ultimately resulted in the abolition of slavery. In that courthouse, the fight for freedom for Dred and Harriet Scott continued for around a decade. Dred and Harriet filed separate lawsuits for freedom in St. Louis based on two Missouri statutes. The court ruled against both cases in 1847, though a judge granted a retrial. In 1850, Dred and Harriet won their case for freedom, but an appeal reversed the decision in 1852, making Scott and his family slaves again. Scott was finally freed, but not through a court case.
