Israel orders evacuations in northern Gaza as Trump calls for war to end

By Nidal Al-Mughrabi Reuters  The Israeli military ordered Palestinians to evacuate areas in northern Gaza on Sunday before intensified fighting against  Hamas , as U.S. President Donald Trump called for an end to the  war  amid renewed efforts to broker a ceasefire. “Make the deal in Gaza, get the hostages back,”  Trump  posted on his Truth Social platform early on Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was due to hold talks later in the day on the progress of Israel’s offensive. A senior security official said the military will tell him the campaign is close to reaching its objectives, and warn that expanding fighting to new areas in Gaza may endanger the remaining Israeli hostages. New Panera menu coming in April with larger portions

ST. LOUIS -- Panera Bread is updating its menu with lots of new dishes that customers already love, like soups, salads, sandwiches, and mac & cheese. The St. Louis based chain says that it will be offering more food for your money with bigger portions and lower prices. This new menu will be available at all Panera restaurants across the country starting April 4th.

They're adding nine new items and making twelve old favorites even better. You'll find options like the Tomato Basil BLT sandwich, Ranch Cobb Salad, and Mediterranean Greens with Grains salad, all for under $10. Plus, they're adding more chicken and steak to salads and sandwiches.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the new items hitting the menu on April 4th:

  • Toasted Italiano Sandwich
  • Chicken Bacon Rancher Sandwich
  • Ciabatta Cheesesteak Sandwich
  • Tomato Basil BLT Sandwich
  • Mediterranean Chicken Greens with Grains Salad
  • Southwest Chicken Ranch Salad
  • Balsamic Chicken Greens with Grains Salad
  • Ranch Cobb Salad
  • Bacon Mac & Cheese

In the early days, Panera, once known as the St. Louis Bread Company, distinguished itself with its commitment to quality bread. Founded in 1987 in Kirkwood, Missouri, it prided itself on crafting everything in-house. Founder Ken Rosenthal emphasized the process required for perfect sourdough, highlighting the challenge for large commercial bakeries to replicate its artisanal qualities.

The name and the menu have changed a lot over the past 37 years. Now, the company once known for its bread is dealing with two deaths over charged lemonade. A recent essay in The Nation links the company's story with many other companies obsessed with growth.

Keep an eye out for more updates throughout March, and if you're a MyPanera member, you'll get exclusive sneak peeks before the official launch in April.
